MEMORIAL PARK NEIGHBORHOOD COMMITTEE TO MEET MARCH 3RD

February 26, 2011

by John Kiljan

The City-sponsored Memorial Park Neighborhood Committee will hold its third organizational meeting this Thursday at 6:00 pm (note the new time) in the Anne Campbell Room across from the Arvada police station entrance at City Hall. The organization is an outgrowth of the City of Arvada’s proactive effort to revitalize older neighborhoods by supporting local community organizations.

The Memorial Park neighborhood is the City’s first pilot revitalization project. Its geographical boundaries are Olde Wadsworth Boulevard to Carr Street, and Ralston Road north to the railroad tracks.

WHERE TO FIND OUT MORE

The City of Arvada’s primary contact for the organization is Linda Hoover at 720-898-7454 or LHOOVER@arvada.org. Linda will email you copy of their pre-meeting material if you ask. The information on local issues and concerns is particularly interesting, and the demographic summaries are useful for anyone living along the central Ralston corridor.

As a follow-up, here is the City’s official invitation to the meeting. The invitation has attached files that are not shown here. . .

    Hello –

Thank you for attending the first meeting of the Memorial Park Neighborhood Committee on February 10, 2011. We greatly value your time and effort to help identify and implement improvements to your neighborhood. Your comments and concerns are always greatly appreciated.

Attached please find minutes of the February 10 meeting and the Neighborhood Goals sheet handed out at the meeting. The Goal sheet may be completed either online and sent back to us via e-mail or brought to the meeting next week. If sending by e-mail, please send it to us no later than Wednesday Morning (3/2/11). Please let us know if you have any comments or concerns regarding them.

In addition to the minutes, please find attached a copy of the open house survey results for your reference, along with a copy of the grant presentation given to City Council. This presentation is a pdf version of a program called Prezi. Please skip past the first slide and the presentation begins on slide 2. The last attachment is a spreadsheet showing existing Programs and resources available to help citizens (once again, this is for your reference).

We look forward to our next meeting on March 3, 2011. This meeting will be held in the Anne Campbell room at Arvada City Hall and the meeting is set to begin at 6pm. Since the meeting is scheduled for after hours, please use the “Police” entrance as the Anne Campbell room is just inside the door and to the left. Please feel free to bring along another neighbor or family member to the next meeting.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please let us know.

    See you soon
    Linda and Kevin
